A Little Introduction to My Life Pt. 1

Welcome, welcome! As you hopefully know by now my name is EmilyAnn (well technically it's Emily Ann James, but there are so many Emily's in the world that combining my first and middle name helped me stand out just the slightest bit more). Currently I am two weeks away from my college graduation, fifty-two days away from marrying my best friend, and fifty-three days away from moving to Jacksonville, Florida. Yup, you read that right... I am packing up my entire life and moving literally the day after my wedding. Fun, fun fun. Every other day life throws us another curve. Lately the navy has been kicking our butts and who knows what the outcome will be. I am a huge planner, almost to a fault. Every decision I make is for the most part well thought out and calculated, "how will this one decision play out in the next few days? What about the next few years?" I always try to plan a few steps ahead, which is the complete opposite of what you're supposed to do in the military. Yet, somehow I have managed to go with the flow enough to be marrying uncertainty when it comes to my future husbands job, location, etc. We have been through deployments, missions, some communication, no communication, dropped phone calls, re-enlistments, while always knowing that tomorrow is not a given and that in the blink of an eye everything can change (and it has changed... many, many times). I'm not going to go into any detail (at least not right now) about what particular changes have been happening in our life right now. But to keep it brief we have been completely blind sided in exciting ways and unfortunately in devastating ways more than once in the past two weeks. Through it all though, we remain a team. Lately we have been imagining what life could look for us out of the military. Where would we want to officially settle down? What jobs would we both try to obtain? What kind of house do we want? So many questions, and of course never any real answers. But, hey, this is my life and I wouldn't want it any other way. We have had many blessings come our way, and we have learned to even turn the heart ache into blessings. Here's hoping that life truly does work in mysterious ways, and that no matter what we can find peace and comfort in where ever we land.
